This last weekend we had a blast!! We rode up with Anthony and Kellie to Pine Top where we went mountain biking at Sunrise. It was sooo pretty up there. It made me want to move to the mountains again! Saturday we woke up and headed out to the mountain. We ended up taking 3 rides down the mountain, getting drenched on the speed lift, and only 2 crashes (Tony and Garrett). That night we enjoyed a yummy mexican dinner, watching a movie and some of the Olympics. It was so nice to relax and not have the kids for the weekend who were staying with mom and dad. Dad spent most of the time with them as mom was sick. He took them to Jump Street, McDonalds, to dinner with GG-ma, and even paid Kenzie money to go to bed! Saweeet! She came home so excited she made 4 dollars!! Here are some pictures from our trip...
And, since school starts next week I am trying to get in all that I possibly can. This would include transitioning Paige from her crib the a normal twin bed! Earlier today I put her down for a nap in her bed, and she did great. I am not sure tonight is going to go as smooth!
I am having mixed emotions about going back to school. I am DREADING dropping Paige at daycare. She just cries and wants to hang on to me. It is so sad! The first week is always the roughest! I am not looking forward to the rat race I am in during the school year. The constant pull in every direction to work, spend time with the kids, give the husband attention, make dinner, do the laundry, have some personal time, ect. It just seems overwhelming but I have been very blessed with a strong, independent personality. Without it, I am not sure I would be successful at the juggle! I do enjoy being so close to Kenzie. She will be in 1st grade and soon will be 6 years old. She comes to my room each day and I sure love her firey, strong personality. I have a laundry list of things to still pick up and to do! Soon enough it will all get done... I am looking forward to new students, being spoiled throughout the year, learning to be a better teacher, and having fun!
Today Garrett shared an experience at work that really was impressive to me. Him and some guys at work had gotten into a discussion about the church and why we do what we do...why we listen to "some guy" who tells us not to drink hot or strong drinks. Garrett pointed out that Moses gave commandments and we follow him. The prophet does receive revelation and we need to adhere to their council and guidance. The matter of fact was whether or not the young worker believed that the prophet was truly a man of god. Garrett stood as a witness that the prophet is on the earth today and receives revelation, and we as followers if we believe in him, should follow his council. I guess that is something to ask yourself during conference. If I believe that we have a prophet on earth who receives revelation, would I follow him? What a great example he is to me when he stands for what he believes.
